Pretty dang good coffee! I had a "creamy mint mocha" with dark mocha instead of white. I would go back again..absolutely. As for the service, it was good too; very polite, answered questions, etc. The location is well marked, very clean inside, good selection of pastries (the scones looked so good), and the breakfast & lunch menu was original and sounded very yummy. My only complaint is the device they use to keep coffee cup lids. It's built into the countertop, which is black, and stores the black lids in a pop-up device. A little odd. Just toss them in a bowl like everywhere else. I'm sure the fudgies love it though. ;)

Fantastic coffee, and much lower witchiness level than the competition. Have to return to try the food.

Friendly shop right on Main Street Harbor Springs...America's favorite small town! Excellent espresso drinks and big bonus...fresh doughnuts and bagels from Johan's just down the street! Friendly atmosphere and free pretty fast wifi. Winning...

Iced coffee was good, food and service was desperately lacking... We were standing at the cash register waiting to place our order and all five people "working" there ignore us. Food was average at best, I think the turkey was the cheapest they could buy (had that slimy texture). The bread was good, but all four different sandwiches we ordered were served on the same bread. The only reason I'm amazed that people were waiting in line for this place is because it took so long for the staff to simply take our order. If there was one other similar sandwich shop in town, this place would be in trouble. I honestly believe they can make this into a really nice sandwich and coffee shop with some minor improvements. It is a great location and has a very comfortable ambience.

A ridiculous place--the only reason they're in business is because of their location. Good coffee but rude staff that moves verrrrry slowly to please their guests.

Made a pit stop on a bike ride through Harbor Springs. Great food and service. Will go back again!

Wonderful cobb salad! This was my first time here, even though I am a local (I know, shame shame). I was on a quick lunch break from work and didn't have a whole lot of time to spare, so I will be making a return visit, and hopefully many more. The folks that took care of me were very friendly and nice. The greens were fresh with lots of crumbled bleu cheese, REAL bacon strips, fresh tomatoes, avocados, red onion and cucumbers and a VERY tasty balsamic dressing. Lots of places in this town boast "high quality" and aren't shy about charging for it, however, most times it turns out to be GFS frozen stuff. But not this place. I can't emphasize the freshness of everything in this salad. Well done, guys! Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to chowing down on some of those sandwiches!!!

Great infused water, veggie wraps and, if you're feeling decadent, an OUTSTANDING chocolate muffin. It's nice to have good music (both inside and out), a takeout window and a refreshingly neutral television channel. The WiFi suffers only because of the blossoming popularity of the setting, it's part of our northern Michigan charm. Clean, friendly and delicious. What more could you ask for?!

Best bet for coffee in HS. No contest.

Full Disclosure: I know the owners. They are wonderful people who have put their heart and soul into their two Stained Cup locations and their restaurant, Paper Station Bistro (separate review). That having been said, this is THE go-to place in HS for exceptional coffee and breakfast. The coffee beans are perfectly roasted for a full-flavor cup of brew without any bitterness. I'm a purist when it comes to joe (no cream or sugar), so I believe I know good coffee. As for food, my traveling companions and I enjoyed almost the entire breakfast menu--from chocolate muffins to spicy "Lap Wreckers." Everything was fresh and delicious. I opted for The Classic--an asiago cheese bagel toasted with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and ham. The $7.50 sandwich was enormous, but I made short order of it. There's a tasty option for every palate, including a Veggie Bagel Stack. On my next trip to HS, I plan to taste my way through the lunch menu. I can't wait to return.

I just had a 3 shot mocha that was the worst I have ever had. Devoid of coffee and chocolate. I threw it out. To add insult to injury, it was the most expensive I have ever had at $5.50. Almost a dollar more than Starbucks. They may have good food, but they know nothing about coffee. All kids running it.

I have dealt with rude staff on multiple occasions, as well as excessively long wait times for a coffee (like 20-25 minutes long and no apology/acknowledgment). I do not like to give poor reviews and I give the owners credit for what they have created. I am a local and know that HS needs a "go-to" coffee shop. This place just needs some work and serious improvement on how they treat their customers...

We went to get some oatmeal and a few simple drinks. The oatmeal is advertised as with milk but they made it with water - tolerable, but not what was advertised. Then we ordered some hot tea, but they gave us iced. The staff is poorly trained and/or doesn't care about what they're doing obviously.

So happy this cozy little coffee shop has found success in downtown Harbor Springs. The owners have really improved it over the previous coffee shop that resided here. The drinks are good, and the service is friendly. It is nice to see the locals supporting this cool little coffee shop. I would give it 5 stars but the service wasn't exactly the fastest on the occasions that I have visited even when I was the only customer, the barista didn't seem too motivated to make the drink quickly but I'm rarely in a hurry so it is okay. I will continue to support this great little business.

Cute coffee place that used to be another coffee place if I'm not mistaken. Truth be told, came here for the wifi because my place has iffy wifi for the iPad but not for the laptop for some reason as did the Inn at Bay Harbor, McDonald's and GT Pie Co. It's been a while but the former place used to charge for wifi by the hour...guess that doesn't happen much anymore. Anyhow, had a tasty lemonade and a yummy mixed berry tart. Very friendly staff. Broad sandwich and drink menu. Good looking breakfast menu. The hot lid holder isn't that hard to find. Interesting art to look at with some of it for sale. I can see how it would be chaotic behind the counter when it's busy because there isn't a ton of room back there though seems as deep as your local Starbucks, etc. During my late May midday visit, it was moderately busy with a number of to go orders. Grab some food and a drink on the way to the beach or park!

The only reason this coffee shop is worth going to is because there really isn't another one. I have generally had blandly positive experiences here but today I left extremely annoyed. Their wifi wasn't working, and after pointing it out I was told "they would worry about it after the fourth of July." Look, I get that it's busy but wifi isn't a perk, it's a service that they advertise providing, that people buy coffee and sandwhiches just so they can use the wifi which means they should care whether it works. The silver lining is I had an excuse to visit Island Bear Coffee Company which had wifi that worked, a really nice staff, outdoor seating (with wifi!!!) and a tasty avocado sandwhich.

Packed on 4th but they all worked it (even after hitting the 45 hr mark) and the coffee is excellent. Might have them make sure it's extra hot in case you have a walk to make sure your coffee is warm enough - otherwise fantastic
